STP-Parts – Cores for a better life

For workshops

Selling used parts from the workshop

What sits on the shelf after a repair has value: every removed steering gear, starter and turbocharger is a core for remanufacturing. We buy them, including parts outside the deposit schemes.

Why workshops should not scrap used parts

When an exchange part is fitted, the workshop only gets the deposit back if the used part matches the supplier's deposit scheme exactly. Parts from other sources, parts without a matching exchange programme and parts from repairs with new parts are left behind. These are exactly the parts we buy.

A steering gear or a turbocharger in the scrap skip fetches scrap price. As an identifiable core it fetches many times that and goes back into the cycle.

Which parts are worth it

  • Steering gears and steering boxes, including those with play or leaks
  • Hydraulic and electric power steering pumps
  • Starters and alternators, including non-working units
  • Turbochargers with shaft play or a damaged compressor wheel
  • Brake calipers, including seized ones, with and without electric parking brake
  • Clutch pressure plates and dual-mass flywheels

Not worth it: parts with a cracked housing, dismantled units and parts without a legible type plate. Details are in the acceptance criteria for each product group.

How the sale works

  1. You collect used parts type-sorted in a mesh box or on a pallet. Drain oil, seal the ports.

  2. You send us a list with part numbers and quantities, or simply photos of the type plates.

  3. We assess the parts and come back with an offer. Usually within one working day.

  4. Once agreed, we organise collection from a sensible quantity; smaller lots you send by parcel or freight.

  5. After goods receipt and inspection, we pay.

What you should prepare

  • Leave the type plate visible, do not paint over or grind it off
  • Do not open the parts, do not remove internal components
  • Drain fluids, seal ports with plugs or tape
  • Separate by part type: starters with starters, turbochargers with turbochargers

Frequently asked questions

Do you also buy single parts?

Yes. A single turbocharger or steering gear is already worth it. For regular volumes we agree fixed collection intervals.

Do I have to clean the parts?

No. Coarse dirt is normal. What matters is that the type plate stays legible and no fluids can leak.

What about parts I paid a deposit on?

Return those to your supplier to get the deposit back. Offer us the parts that do not fit the deposit scheme.
