Reading the Denso number
Denso numbers consist of six digits, a hyphen and four digits, for example 104210-3522. The first block describes product group and series, the second the variant. The type plate often also carries the vehicle manufacturer's OE number (Toyota 27060-…, Honda 31100-…). Both numbers help with identification.
Type plate on the Denso part
- Alternator: label on the housing, with Denso number, OE number, voltage and current
- Starter: label on the housing shell or stamping near the flange
Typical rejections of Denso cores
- Alternators with broken mounting lugs
- Starters with missing solenoid
- Parts without a legible plate and without vehicle details
