Reading the Valeo number
Valeo uses six-digit part numbers without separators, for example 439 525. The type plate also carries the type designation, which describes the series and output: TG12C0xx is an alternator of the TG12 family, D7R a starter of the D7 family. For identification, the six-digit number is usually enough; the type designation helps when the plate is damaged.

Typical rejections of Valeo cores

- Opened or leaking DMFs
